Tiny Dancers
Ages 2-3 years
Our Tiny Dancers (ages 2–3) at Bayside Ballet Academy enjoy our ‘My Grown Up & Me’ classes, where a parent or caregiver joins their child in a gentle, playful introduction to the world of dance. These nurturing classes help little ones feel safe and supported while they explore music, movement, rhythm and creative play.
Designed especially for children not yet in Kindergarten, our Tinies program supports important early developmental milestones. Through dancing, young children build balance, coordination, gross motor skills, listening ability and early musicality, while structured movement also supports brain development, body awareness and healthy physical growth.
Just as importantly, dancing in a group encourages valuable social and emotional skills. Children learn to follow simple instructions, take turns, share space and interact with others, while being supported by a trusted adult helps develop confidence, independence and emotional security. At Bayside Ballet Academy, our Tiny Dancers are encouraged to move, imagine and have fun — creating a positive, joyful first experience of dance and learning.
Mini Dancers
Ages 3-5 years
Our Mini Dancers program at Bayside Ballet Academy in Beaumaris is designed especially for Kindergarten enrolled children aged 3-5 years who are ready to explore dance in a fun, structured and supportive environment. Families across Bayside Melbourne love that our Minis can choose one or two classes a week with our two engaging class options on offer for this age group which are Ballet and Acro/Jazz Combo class.
In our ballet program, we proudly teach the Fancy Pants Dance syllabus, created by BBA Principal and qualified Early Childhood Educator Lydia Cagney Morris. This imaginative program introduces the foundations of classical ballet through storytelling, music, props and creative movement. Each week features a new theme that sparks imagination while helping children develop coordination, posture, balance, musicality and confidence in a joyful and age-appropriate way.
Our Acro/Jazz Combo class is perfect for energetic little movers who love to tumble and dance. Children are introduced to basic gymnastics and acrobatic skills such as cartwheels and somersaults, combined with fun, upbeat jazz dance routines. This class builds strength, flexibility, body control and rhythm, all while keeping learning playful and exciting.
Both class options support important early childhood development, encouraging children to follow instructions, take turns, build friendships and gain confidence, all within the warm, welcoming community of Bayside Ballet Academy.
If your child loves twirling about like a ballerina or loads of energy our Mini Dancer program in Beaumaris might just be what you're looking for.
